Power of storytelling to drive positive change in Philippines
We are incredibly proud of our partnership with the Philippine Educational Theatre Association (PETA) in delivering Smashed to young people across Philippines. By combining drama with open discussions, PETA creates a safe space for students to reflect, ask questions, make better-informed choices about alcohol and learn how to resist peer pressure.
PETA: A Legacy of Transformative Theatre
Since its establishment in 1967, PETA has pioneered the use of theatre as an educational and advocacy tool. Their ability to engage audiences on social issues through live performances makes them the perfect delivery partner for Smashed. Through their expertise, we’ve been able to bring the dangers of underage drinking to life in a way that resonates deeply with young people in Philippines.
One of the most successful aspects of Smashed Philippines is its Smashed Live performances, adapted culturally and linguistically for local audiences. These interactive theatre experiences depict real-life situations that young people face, including peer pressure, risky decisions, and the potential consequences of underage drinking.
A Milestone Achievement: Expanding Our Reach
Beyond the Stage: The “Feelings, Explained” Podcast
In an effort to broaden the conversation on underage drinking, Smashed Philippines partnered with the “Feelings, Explained” podcast to tackle common misconceptions about alcohol. This episode dives into the reasons behind early alcohol consumption, the influence of peer pressure, and how young people can navigate these challenges.

Together, we can make a difference, one performance, one conversation, and one empowered decision at a time.
